| How it Works |
Virtually all previous speech privacy systems were designed and installed inside the plenum area. Using large, powerful loudspeakers, engineers has to bounce the masking sound off of building structures, such as I-Beams, Air conditioning ducts and other obstructions before the masking sound entered the area to be masked. This caused designers to make each speaker capable of tuning and volume adjustments to produce uniformity. Yet, other fixtures in the ceiling cause more problems, such as air return vents, light fixtures, plumbing and even electrical devices, and actually caused a lack of uniformity in the masked area. Previous systems also use an analog frequency to produce the masking sound. This requires sound generators, equalizers and amplifiers to create the proper sound at the correct levels, and strong enough to mask the whole area. This also required many pieces of equipment, room to hold this equipment and much more energy to run the equipment. |
